CSV Import/Export

Import / export items via CSV

You have the possibility to import items via CSV and export your items from dewabit as CSV. The corresponding option is available in the main window.

CSV1

Status code and action

There are two important parameters for CSV import and export.

First there is the parameter Action:

This can have the value “Add” or “Revise”. If the value “Add” is set, a new item is created when the item is imported. If the value “Revise” is set, then an existing article is updated.

On the other hand there is the parameter StatusCode:

The StatusCode indicates whether it is an item in the drafts (Draft) or whether it is an active item (Active).

This results in the following possible combinations:

Action Status code Result
Add Draft The items are added to the drafts
Add Active The items are copied to the queue as new articles
Revise Draft The drafts with the item id are updated during import
Revise Active The active items with the item id are loaded into the queue as items to be revised.

Mapping own CSV-Proile:
For own profiles Action is mapped to the field dewabit_Action. StatusCode is mapped to dewabit_ItemStatusCode.

Mapping ebayCSVManagerFormat:
With the ebayCSVManager format, Action is mapped to the field Action(CC=Cp1252). StatusCode is mapped to dewabit_ItemStatusCode.

Manage CSV profiles

Via file ⇒ Import/Export ⇒ CSV ⇒ CSV profiles you can manage your profiles. The following window opens:

CSV5

Besides the already existing predefined profiles you can also create a new profile by clicking on File ⇒ New profile or clone an existing profile by clicking on Profile ⇒ Clone profile. Then enter a name and confirm with Enter.

You can then customize the corresponding CSV field on the right side for each property of an item. This creates a so-called mapping, which is used for import and export.

The delimiter specifies which separator is used in the CSV. Usually either a comma , or a semicolon ; is used. ListSplitChar is a character used to split list fields. Example: The PicURL field in ebay CSV manager format can contain multiple images. These are separated with a |.

Update stock and price using CSV

With the predefined InventoryUpdate CSV profile you can easily update the price and stock of active items.

Select the active items you want to edit and export them as CSV with the predefined InventoryUpdate CSV profile. Then you can export the fields Quantity and StartPrice with a spreadsheet program like Excel.
